Polana Serena Hotel is a historic 5-star property overlooking Maputo Bay, opened in 1922 in palace-style architecture and operated within the Serena Hotels group. Known as the Grand Dame of Maputo, it combines the original colonial main building with the refreshed Polana Mar wing and serves leisure and business travellers as the city's landmark hotel. Accommodation comprises 153 rooms and suites (87 in the historic main building, 66 in Polana Mar) plus Villa Mar residences — from Studio and Prime through Deluxe, Executive, Executive Suites and the Presidential Suite. Dining includes Delagoa (fine dining), Varanda (all-day) and Aquarius (poolside); wellness centres on Maisha Spa & Health Club with gym, sauna/steam and pools.
